The Space
The retro funky blue bathroom has many original (1960 ) features. The bed is a comfy queen size and the bedding new and fresh. The sofa-daybed converts to a solid twin bed if needed. There are cool terrazzo floors throughout and mid-century style furniture and decor. Fully controllable central air and heat. We have a nice shared outdoor garden space with tropical plants and various lounge chairs and umbrellas where you can relax and read. There is a bbq grill and outdoor dining area with a huge Australian pine dining table for entertaining. The Samsung washer and dryer are round back. We provide bikes ( even a vintage tandem! ), surf boards, coolers, beach chairs and many other things for the beach. Parking is available in front of the house. Gorgeous sunsets are also free!
The Neighborhood
Our quiet street is one of the nicest on Lido Key, all low rises, with a quaint "time stood still" feel. Lido Pavilion and pool are 1/2 block away and the beach just beyond it. Make your coffee in the morning and wander barefoot to drink it at the water's edge. At the other end of Grant Drive are parks and mangroves and we are minutes away from nature trails, kayak rentals and access to the 4 bodies of water that make up the beautiful 100 acre South Lido Beach Park. It's the perfect place to run, stroll, bike and explore.
Nearby is the elegant St Armand's Circle where you can shop and dine at wonderful restaurants like Shore and Venezia ( we will give you a long list of places all over Sarasota when you arrive! ). In fact with the bus at the end of our street that goes downtown you don't even need to rent a car during your stay! Downtown Sarasota, just across the gorgeous Ringling Bridge, also offers plenty. We love the Sarasota Opera, the Ringling Museum, the Historic Asolo Theatre, the shops on Main Street, the Marina and the hundreds of different places to eat and drink.
